Balcony Solar#
Balcony Solar usually consists of a few solar panels which secure onto a balcony railing and then are attached to a plug-in inverter or microinverter, the energy captured can then be used to offset electricity bills. While not particularly stealthy, balcony solar improves the access of solar particularly to those who don’t own their own property. Balcony Solar has driven technological development such as the plug-in inverter which can also be used for other forms of stealth solar such as sheds and wall installation. While well established in a number of European countries Balcony Solar hasn’t yet been well adopted in countries such as the UK and USA however with changes to legislation this is likely to change in the near future.
While Balcony Solar makes solar more accessible there remains some situations where landlords or planning restrictions don’t allow it, this has resulted in innovative options such as Solar Tables.
